What is the meaning of "Millenial"?

The term millennials refers to the people born between the late 1980's and early 2000's. They are also referred to as Generation Y or the echo boomers. The latter is because they are the children of the baby boomers who are those who came before the Generation X. The millennials come after the Generation X and precede the Generation Z. So if you fit into this description like me, you're a millenial/echo boomer.

As far as traits are concerned, the most recent studies show that while the millennials are more confident and tolerant than the previous generations, they are also less narcissistic. The reason I used the term "most recent" is because the original study by Jean Teenage in 2006 actually stated that the millennials were more narcissistic than their predecessors. But in 2017, Psychologist Jeffrey Arnett of Clark University disputed it and showed that there was a decline in narcissism and not an increase. So if you're a millennials, chances are your parents were more narcissistic than you and in my personal experience, I believe it.

We also attach more importance to wealth than our predecessors, take part in political affairs more and do not have much desire to cling to a life philosophy. We are also less willing to keep our environment clean than the previous generations. But on the up side, because of the increased involvement in political affairs, more people are willing to take part in elections and actually vote.

Thats basically who the millennials are and it's a pretty good description of us in relation the other generations. I hope it helps
