Shed Talk S01E02

in #psychology6 years ago

This video deals with what it's like to live with, and be someone that has a mental illness.

We touch on such topics as triggers, coping with behavior problems, learning about mental health strategies as a family living with a member with Borderline Personality Disorder. We also discuss the embarrassment and stigma of mental illness, and the difficulty in getting the help you need, especially in crisis situations.
If you are struggling with your mental health, you are not alone. Please reach out to a friend, or call a professional to help you improve your coping mechanisms.

Oh, and we aren't really in the shed. It was too cold and wet outside.

I can definitely identify with some of this. You are not alone. 😑

I only go on the computer once in a while, so I just saw this tonight. Thank you very much for commenting on this post, and for watching this video in the first place. Most people don't like to talk about this kind of stuff, but it's truly the most interesting. This is really the only thing I am interested in talking about on the internet, other than comedy. If I can find a way to do both, I will be thrilled. IF you want to do some kind of video interview somehow, I would be thrilled to talk to you about any area of mental health and wellness that interests you. The more open, unafraid dialogue about these things, the better the experience for all who are affected in any way by mental illness in their lives.
