The 12 major human archetypes!

in #psychology7 years ago

The term "archetype" originates from ancient Greek.

The root words are archaine, which means "original or old" and a typo, which means "model or type". Combined meaning is an "original model" from which all other similar persons, objects or concepts are extracted, copied, modeled or emulated. Psychologist Carl Jung uses the concept of an archetype in his theory of human psyche to designate repetitive patterns

He believes that the universal, mythical heroes - archetypes - are in the collective subconscious of people around the world. The archetypes represent basic human motives of the experience we have developed. This results in deep emotions and determines our behavior.

Carl Jung, 1960

Interestingly, if there are statistics, which archetype is most common?

I have no statistical information that they are approximately the same number. 🕵
