Throw Back Thursday ( Steemit Uganda Meetup)
My throwback Thursday is about the Last Week Steemit Uganda Meetup. I made confess, that much as I wanted to be there, I wasn't opportuned due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control. Although, many other Ugandan Steemians were in attendance, and report has it that the meet up was a success. A Big Thank You to @achimmertens who sponsored the event. Thanks you so much for your continued support for the Uganda Steemit Community. We are indeed grateful.
According to @jaraumoses,
Whoever came up with the idea of Steemit meetups....should be given a gold medal in creativity or in fact an Oscar award!
The meet up was at Wakiki Restaurant in Centenary park, Kampala. The Steemians first got a chance to introduce themselves stating how they got to know about Steemit and highlighting the benefits as well as achievements they have acquired since they got the golden platform. @ireneblessing happened to be the MC of the event guiding the discussion. Among the topics discussed were:
- Block-chain,Crypto and Steem-Blockchain handled by @battebilly. He was honored to open the day's event. He made this known in his post: https://steemit.com/promo-steem/@battebilly/the-steemit-meet-up-on-2nd-06-18-in-kampala-was-the-best-meet-up-we-ve-ever-prepared where he said:
First and foremost I was the first presenter in the meet-up. I love engaging my ordinance in presentations. In my presentation I asked people what they know on blockchain technology? The difference between cryptocurrence and block-chain? We interactively got the difference. After driving my points home I call the next speaker to carry on.
The difference between Steem and Steemit discussed by @jaraumoses
Why Steem is the best cryptos of all? Again handled by @jaraumoses
Steemit Apps like dlive, dtube handled by @yohan2on. He explained the importance of this apps and how he uses Steephot and dlive. He also gave direction on how to login and upload a video or live stream on Dlive.
How to make your first 100$ on Steemit? This one got everyone's attention. I mean who doesn't want to know how to make your first 100$ on Steemit. As expected, this topic was handled by the man who made more than 250$ in his first month, none other than @musamalijames. He gave the secret to his success as commenting. Who would have thought he made that much money solely from commenting? Well that was his story. In his early days, his experience with making post are just Zero's. But all of that changed when he began to interact with other Steemians through commenting. He also espoused his commenting technique and strategy.
@tesaganewton came in later to add on what @musamalijames had to say. He emphasixed the need to join many discord and telegram channels as this will give one an opportunity to interact with other Steemians whom one can share one's content with. He also talked of how to minimize account hacking by always using the posting key at all times and how to always automate redeem rewards. How to get Steemit topics to write about? This one was handled by the one and only MC @ireneblessing, who happens to be one of Uganda's Steemit Success. She accrued her ability to get topics to write about to her constant reading of different posts on Steemit. You can read more about what she talked about here: https://steemit.com/promo-steem/@ireneblessing/the-uganda-steemit-meet-up-was-a-blessing-to-all-the-ugandans
How to look out for opportunities in crypto. This part was handled by @sembozezade. According to @jaraumoses
the very first time I met/saw this guy,i got him watching crypto videos....!! I just had to tell him Steemit and he signed up right way.
- Recap of the Africa Blockchain Conference and the opportunities at hand.
After much chatting, interacting, sharing ideas and discussion the way forward as Steemit Uganda, the meet up entered the refreshment and chilling mood. Everyone relocated to Kyadondo Rugby grounds, we they had chicken, drinks and eats. As at this time is was already dark. But since it was @shinejean birthday, they had to celebrate.
By the way I should not forget to mention that @jordanlove had the opportunity to meet his Steemit Crush lol.
As a result of the much fun everyone had, it was suggested that a meet up be organized every 2 weeks. Here: https://steemit.com/promo-steem/@ireneblessing/why-is-it-important-for-the-steemians-to-attend-steem-meet-ups-organized-in-their-communities--1528116218 is why this Steemit Meet ups are important.
