An Avalanche of Antidepresants
In the continuing story of Americans beings over-drugged and over-medicated are antidepressants. The use has tripled over last 25 years to as high as 1 in 12 americans. There are no long-term studies on the drugs and their interactions. They are often given for vague reasons and long-term side effects poorly understood. Antidepressants were originally considered a short-term fix to use during difficult times, but the industry has evolved and normalized into a dependency model.
How does this comment about our society, that so many feel plunged into depressive symptoms and drug dependency? The medical capitalist community is once again pushing drugs without knowing consequences... brought to you by your local for profit Rx service.

Some of the increase is probably due to secondary uses, aka it was found that certain antidepressants help you last longer in bed, or help with extreme acne.
Usually these are given in smaller doses but still would count as antidepressant usage. The numbers probably don't take this into account. Probably still too high.

There might be something in those drugs, some sort addicted material that makes people keeping coming back to it. Pharma companies cannot be trusted at all, because to make profit they’d do anything.
