10 Steps to Get Started Prepping

in #prepping7 years ago

The question I am asked the most is how to get started prepping. There are a lot of new people figuring out that it pays to think ahead and be prepared for whatever life throws at you and we all know it can happen at any time, without warning.

This video was originally published Jun 24, 2015 and is still very relevant to this day, although my views have changed a little.

Very interesting. I prep but not for the SHTF type prepping. As far as bugging out goes, I don't think there is much that would cause me to bug out except maybe my house being on fire, then I might have no choice if I cannot get the fire out. What do you consider a "long term" to be. How much of a food/water supply would you store up for long term? I up-voted, and re-steemed, as well as followed. Looking forward to reading or seeing more. Thanks!

For the most part I've gotten away from the whole "sky is falling" type stuff, but it depends on what you consider to be SHTF. I'm a cancer survivor, so I consider that a personal SHTF because it changed my life forever and it was a very difficult situation. I'd say anything close to a year would be considered long term. I only store about 3-4 months worth of food and water, but I have the skills, tools and knowledge to resupply if needed.

Great video! Prepping can be overwhelming when you're just getting started. I upvoted, re-steemed. I also just registered for the #minnowsupportproject. You might want to check them out at @minnowsupport. I upvoted your post on Discord. Checking your votes, looks like Banjo bot voted so I think i did it correctly.

That is so awesome, thank you!

I used to be concerned about it, but now I'm like "Meh, fuck it. If this place turns into The Walking Dead...I don't wanna live thru that shit! I want out!"

Not every situation is the apocalypse. Major storms and natural disasters are worth being prepared for.

D'oh! Major Storms! Son of a...
