The Holy Rosary: The Sorrowful Mysteries

I began this Steemit blog with the name ihm2017 in honor of the centennial of the Blessed Virgin Mary's apparitions in Fatima, Portugal. On March 13, 1917, she appeared to three shepherd children while they were tending to their flock. She appeared to them for 6 months thereafter, every month on the 13th.

The Blessed Virgin Mary promised that on October 13th a miracle would be witnessed by those who gathered there in Fatima. Thousands came and the greatest supernatural event of the 20th century-- indeed, perhaps, of any century A.D.-- was witnessed: an incredulous gyration of the sun followed by a miraculous drying of everything and everyone after it had been poring rain.

The miracle of Fatima has stayed with me on my journey of faith ever since I learned of it. Our Lady's requests at Fatima for an increased devotion to the Rosary has stayed with me as well.
