MINC Corporation Research-Disrupting Poverty one Cycle at a Time

in #poverty7 years ago (edited)

For the last 36 months, MINC Research Corps. LLC, worked diligently to track and assess societal issues of reoccurring and persistent poverty in Baltimore City, where the states largest impoverished populations are concentrated. From the tracking and assessments, we were able to initiate root cause analysis towards understanding the nature of poverty, its underlying causes, and how it moves and reacts to external and internal stimuli. From this, we were able to develop unique perspective and understanding of poverty with the potential of developing a poverty forecast tracker.

The data on the latest poverty discoveries in Baltimore City expected to post soon.

What we know about poverty in Baltimore City, has is consistently expressed through a governmental lens and frameworks of poverty (i.e., federal poverty threshold). Poverty, measured by the amount of dollars made below the federal poverty threshold. However, our research finding provides us with ample support that suggest that (a). poverty is predictable and is non intractable and (b). poverty extends beyond the bare realm of FPT's and income, and (c). poverty is an adverse consequence of criminal activity.

Additionally, in the initial stages of the PIPCO Campaign 2 supported and sponsored by BMSE LLC., our research began with the break down of two poverty concepts:

  1. Lacking in essential resources to provide for basic human needs
  2. Lacking of material means to meet material goals and basic human needs

As we continue to build upon the perspective of poverty through a racial equity framework, we hope to also build the support of our peers, friends, and colleagues to sponsor, share, and/or fund our continued work to develop our prototype poverty forecast tracker.
