I couldn't agree with you more there. I wrote this in another comment and said that the timing of disabling Steem deposits was just very suspicious, I mean it was just after HF-19.. and then the silence is another red flag. why would you disable a feature that thousands of people use and not bother to tell them why you did so? that seems so dodgy.

it took them days to put up a notice on the status of the problem. and right now there is a notice saying that everything will be normal by 1600 UTC time, and it's almost an hour after that time and nothing is happening.
