How The Fuck Do You Let This Idiot Out-left You?!
Tucker Carlson was one of few media pundits to voice dissent against Assange's arrest. This was on Trump state TV too. Not MSNBC or CNN, this is a jagoff on Fox News telling the truth about Julian Assange. Tucker Carlson said on his segment "whatever his sins, Assange did not steal documents from the United States government. He did not hack the DNC servers. He didn't break into John Podesta's Gmail account. There is no proof that he is working for the Russian government or ever has worked for the Russian government. Assange has never been charged with any of that and wasn't on Thursday, no matter what they tell you.". Tucker also pointed out a few things Assange has done to "embarrass everyone in power in Washington DC" from leaking the war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan, to the DNC election fraud in 2016. He went on to ask "What do you call a man who publishes news for a living?" and said that he's "broken stories the New York Times would have won Pulitzers for". He also referenced the time when The Washington Post published The Pentagon Papers and cited a Washington Post op-ed comparing the 2 events that claimed "A conviction of Julian Assange would also cause collateral damage to American media freedoms.". He ended this segment by saying "We just want to be absolutely clear about who hurts this country more -- and it's not him.".
Should I even be surprised at this point that he actually got this right? After all, he got the Syrian war right and he nailed RussiaGate. How sad is it that a jagoff on Fox News can out-left almost everyone on cable news? And mind you, this is Trump state TV. This is another case where Tucker Carlson actually tells the truth. I'm not saying I agree with Tucker on everything, but like what Jimmy Dore says, if a dumb guy like him can get it right, then you should get it right. So I ask this to all mainstream pundits: what's your excuse for not getting this right? Besides sheer partisan hackery of course. What Assange did is no different than what Washington Post and New York Times did when they published The Pentagon Papers. Say what you want about Assange but none of his publications were ever proven false.
Once again, I'm happy to see some dissent in the media, especially on Trump's own state media. I don't agree with a lot of what Tucker Carlson says, but this is another issue where he's right, and everyone else who's getting this wrong should hang their heads in shame. I'd be embarrassed if I got out-lefted by a Fox News host.
