Abortion, Eugenics and Demographics

When China’s one child policy was introduced in 1979 it led to the reemergence of female infanticide in China. The west was offended by this, “how could they murder their daughters”. Meanwhile abortion was alive a well in the west. To be fair China was also murdering girls after they were born, it wasn’t just abortion. Lets not forget about the forced sterilization of women who had 1 child.

I lean libertarian in my thinking, individual rights freedom are important. With that freedom comes personal responsibility, and your freedoms don’t extend to externalities. For example if you want do drugs and destroy your life, most if not all libertarians agree it should be allowed, even if its a bad idea. If your actions under the influence cause you to hurt someone else then you should be held liable. With pregnancy there are 3 peoples rights involved. The father, mother and child. This complicates things.

The question is at what point does the child go from a “sack of cells” to a human being after fertilization? Outside of extreme circumstances such as real rape and not just regretting a one night stand at party, shouldn’t the father have some rights? After the child is born both the mother and father can be held liable for the child. I’ve heard the excuse “the child is feeding off the mother in the womb, what about her right not to be feed off?” or some variation of it. It goes back to personal responsibility, the parents voluntarily created the child it becomes their responsibility.

I don’t think the abortion issue will be resolved with a total ban because of how polarized the issue is. I’m not against the day after pill or contraceptives. I think the best balance for both sides is to significantly shorten the window for abortion (4-6weeks?) as a compromise until we can scientifically prove at what point does an embryo become a person? If its just a “sack of cells” that can be aborted at any stage during the pregnancy how is a that any different from an adult that is just larger “sack of cells”?

Outside of rights issue between the mother, father and child, my second issue with abortion is it seems to parallel eugenics and infanticide from the past. Pro-life activist have brought the issue of down syndrome abortions into the mainstream as of late. They bring up a good point if you can abort your child for genetic defects how is that not eugenics? Doctors can't legally force abortions for down syndrome so they put pressure on the mothers each visit. This leads to some very dangerous areas in terms of morals and ethics.

History of Eugenics , History of Abortion, Child Sacrifice, and Infanticide

We have been practicing population control for thousands of years, the only difference is today we have better technology. We condemn our ancestors for their population control practices of the past while doing the same today.

I wrote in another blog post, free market capitalism allows anyone to contribute and benefit from society. If a person is below average they can still do some work. If they live below their means, excess capital earned from their labor can be invested in portfolios without them having to manage it. This supports industry through investment and allows them a ROI to improve their lives beyond their physical capabilities.

If the issue is these “unwanted children” will grow up unloved to become a problem for society if they are not aborted, then maybe we should work on incentives for marriage and successful loving families. The cultural Marxist have done everything in their power to destroy traditional family culture. Its not the only method they are using to destroy the west, it is the most important.

I’ll expand on this in another post, if the native population aborts millions of children, it creates a demographic shortfall. This shortfall means mass migration from countries who don’t value individual rights and freedom while leaning towards socialism can be imported. The voter base changes the Marxist ideologies can get pushed through the government. This is the real reason the abortion agenda is promoted and backed by so many Marxist NGOs.

US Immigration History

Notice a pattern after 1971 and 1973 (take an expected delay in effect into account)? I don't think the videos show illegal immigration if someone knows if it does, please say something in the comments. Without the 2020 census data that will ask citizenship status, there is no accurate measurement of illegal immigration in the US that could be between 12-30million which has a huge impact congressional seats and therefore government policy.
