Btw, I see this "quitliano" on your blog. Are you sure it is not like "Quintiliano"? "Quitliano" is not respecting rules of italian language about sounds , because of "tl", which can be hardly pronounced with italian rules. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_phonology ) Both T and L are palatal/alveolar, and there is no elision. ( https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ortografia_della_lingua_italiana) Is it a typo? Just a curiosity.
It could very well be. I'm an orphan and not sure which parent the name came from. I do know that the immigration people here in America took liberties with names at Ellis Island (where most Sicilian families came in)
