What are their demands? They want to keep their jobs.

The average working age is 49, so most of them do not see good prospects in finding new career opportunities. There are 280 jobs under threat and the plan went into receivership last December. The two car giants Renault and Peugeot are being accused of blocking negotiations for a takeover there would allow the plant operate, and also making too few orders for production.

They've been fighting six months and now they've had enough. They aren't can leave the factory in one piece if it's going to be closed.

They have already used forklifts to destroy some equipment, blow torches to cut some machinery in half, as well as attaching gas canisters two tanks of liquid oxygen with the threat of blowing it up.

I don't know about you, but this seems like some extremist socialist behavior to take over the means of production of the company they were working for and assume ownership of the plant themselves, doing with it as they please.
