Why does politics trigger so many people? UK general election

in #politics5 years ago

Well, the results are in for the UK general election and the 'conservatives' beat the 'labor' party by a majority vote, and people on social media are outraged. But why? Why do people always throw a tantrum when their political party doesn't win?

The reason so many people get triggered when their political party loses is because, deep down, they know politics is about imposing ones' will upon others, using the state as a proxy to enforce their views. It's a game of power and control, always has been, always will be. The left and right wing belong to the same predatory bird of prey: the government.

How about this: No one gets to impose their opinions, preferences and ideas onto others, rendering all politics obsolete.

It's called freedom (radical, I know).

I guess they get triggered because they believe that the opposition will destroy their lives, which is understandable, given there is so much fear mongering by either side. I have a lot of devastated friends in the UK at the moment. It's why I try not to hinge everything on an outcome - it's psychologically devastating. I'd rather step back. Vote for who I believe in, but understand that the world doesn't always work that way.
