In Indonesia, there is gold mining in Papua Island started from 1981 with the name of Freeport which result in 25.8 million ounce of gold. The dominant shares of the mining company is belonging to US’s company which mean a huge commercial aspect flows to US. However, the most native people around the area refused the existence of the mining activity since they feel no significant welfare effect to their life, but negative effects come from the environmentally destruction instead. Moreover, most Indonesian people never know completely what the significant contribution of the gold mining to the development of their country compared with those high risk of environmental cases and life of the native people. In conclusion, Freeport gold mining offered the big issue which huge number of gold contributed more significant to US than that to Indonesia as the native owner of that gold. Moreover, the majority of Indonesians feel it looks like a new style of colonialism.
