Really. The problem is that any exposure he is given has to be in a good light. But the facts shine lots of BAD light on him and his shenanigans.
So, apparently he and the powers-that-be prefer it if he remains relatively anonymous. He mostly appears only when he is guaranteed to face nothing but softball questions. If he's asked too many hard questions, the cracks in his story appear.
