ISIS: the worst enemy of Islam

in #politics7 years ago

Far to often I have heard claims of ISIS being "followers" of  Islam; while it is true that ISIS claim to be followers of the islamic  faith, that along does not actually mean that they are. In a previous work,  I have tried to provide sources to show that terrorist are not muslim,  and have in fact nothing to do with islam. on the contrary, they are the  worst enemies of Islam.

Islam is not only a religion of peace, but also a religion of justice, order and tolerance.  Yet ISIS killl, torture, commit all kind of atrocities against muslim  and non muslim alike, and act in violation of every principle of Islam.  As Didier François,  a french journalist who was held captive for almost a year by ISIS,  told us it is not so much for a religious purpose that ISIS fight, but  rather for a political one.

On Rumiyah, ISIS new propaganda magazine replacing Dabiq, ISIS launched  themselves into an explanation on why it was permissible to kill  civilian in the cause of Jihad, including children and women. Such  action goes directly against the rules of war  taught by the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which clearly state  "You must not mutilate dead bodies. Neither kill a child, nor a woman,  nor an aged man."

On Dabiq, ISIS were mainly targetting muslims, using all kind of  propaganda to have them join their so called "Caliphate". They depicted  an apocalyptical time in which muslim has to fight non-believers or be  doomed for eternity. In one of their issue called "the flood", they used  the story of Noah as a metaphor to say that those who do not fight for  them will be condemned to eternal hell fire. That shows how little  knowledge ISIS have of Islam, for the Quran says: "Allah does not  forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do  not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and  acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.  Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and  expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - [forbids] that you  make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those  who are wrongdoers." (Surat Al- Mumtahina, verses 8 and 9)

One of the most misquoted verses of the Quran, by both ISIS and  anti-muslim alike is the verses 5 of Surat At- Tawba, the repentance,  that says "And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the  polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and  sit in wait for them at every place of ambush". however the next sentence is often forgotten "But  if they should repent, estabish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go]  on their way, indeed, Allah is forgiving and Merciful." And the following verses goes on saying" And  if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him  protection so that he may hear the words of Allah. Then deliver him to  his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know"  If we go back to the historical context, Surat al Tawba was revealed to  allow muslim to defend themselves after been percecuted for 13 years  and forces to migrate from Mecca to Medina, it was only after receiving  the authorization in Surat At-Tawba that muslims started to fight back.

ISIS and their war against Islam

I could not think of a better title than this one, for if we look at the statistics,  we see that the vast majority of ISIS victims are muslims. Terrorism  has destroyed and destabilised the majority of muslims countries,  leaving many with no home, or family and forced to flee their own  country. The damaged caused to muslims by the terror group extand to the  muslims living in the west who have to face a rise of hate crime toward  their community caused by the misconception spread by no one elses than  those who claim to share their faith. By their actions, ISIS has proved  themselves to be the enemy of Allah and humanity as a whole.

According to a report published by the UN in 2014, ISIS has "carried  out attacks deliberately and systematically targeting civilians and  civilian infrastructure, with the intention of killing and wounding  civilians". In the same report, we see that ISIS has executed three sunni women for refusing to provide ISIS fighter with medical care, they  destroyed sunni mosques because their leaders allegedly refused to  swear allegiances to them, and the list of the killing goes on and on...

What  is interesting to notice is that when ISIS execute non-muslims they make  a show of it, spreading their atroce executions for the whole world to  see. But when it comes to muslims execution, they remain very quiet,  truth is ISIS is aware that the wild killing of muslims would hurt their  cause and prevent them from attracting potential support from muslims  countries, in fact ISIS leaders had address that issue in their online  magazine called Dabiq  in the issue called a call to hijrah. They try to justify the killing  of their fellow muslims by claming that some had embush ISIS fighters  captured "and  then tortured, amputated, and executed prisoners.” But when you look  through the UN report you can't help but see the truth, ISIS was never  about submitting to Islam, but rather submitting to ISIS or die.

What is  sad to realise is the inexistant media coverage of the death of muslims  compared to the one of none muslims. While both hold the same importance  in regard to the atrocity and violence, it seems that one remain  largely ignored by media. Imagine the impact it would have if the media  where to pay a tribute to those brave muslims who dies refusing to give  in to ISIS. It would not only hurt tremendousely ISIS cause but also  change the misconception of "West versus Islam" that is slowly starting  to settle, to the truth, "humanity versus ISIS". This could very well be  the key to defeat ISIS once and for all.
