Syria - Kurds - Turkey - USA

in #politics7 years ago

What is going on in Syria these days. Is it worth thinking about international politics and do the different parties act according to international standards or more according to their shortsighted strategy. Can we trust newspapers and the media or do we have to build our own opinion?
It is always worth to build your own view based on information from groups and people with very entire different positions.

Turkish army is attacking Kurdish bases. There are very different ways to look at it. Please just read the following different ways to look at it and then think about it...:

First way,
The US (by the way our German government is doing the same not widespread with weapons but also with training and political support) is supporting a group of rebels listed from a NATO partner (Turkey) as terrorists. Western country weapons are delivered to radical groups with unknown or short term perceived non-relevant political and territorial interest just to oppose a today enemy without considering mid and long-term effects of these weapons and created armies for this region. It is obvious that the Turkish government and army tries to prevent empowering any anti-Turkish groups to build up troops equipped with state of the art weapons and apprenticeship.

Second way to look at it,
Turkish government is attacking a group of repressed people fighting for freedom and against repression of radical Islamic group just to life in peace and freedom. These long term suppressed people are supported from neighbor country group of freedom fighter speciously classified as terrorist in their home country because of power political interests. The Turkish government disregards NATO partnerships and human rights and starts an offensive war to enforce political and territorial interests.

What do you think about it? Both can be true ... it just depends on where you are looking for news for. Share your view on it. This is my first post, so feel free to post any comments and critics you have in mind...

Sort:

As part of those repressed people, Turkey is a fascist human rights abusing nation. Under the disguise of national security, Turkey is silently ethnic cleansing the Kurds and it isn't done only by slaughter. Is it done by restricting the Kurdish language and killing all hope of a Kurdish nation. Over 10 million Kurds of Kurmanji dialecte can not speak their mother tongue and that number will grow as Kurdish schools do not exist and had been banned for many years. The Zazaki dialecte is almost extinct already.

This is my view.

Thank you for your comment. Very welcome to see additional background information, which help to get a personal clear picture. My post was just a very short comment without any background info, only two examples of totally different pictures people can get on the same topic if they following different news channels or live in different countries and follow their typical press.
