Why Is The Left So Filled With Hate These Days?

I used to believe that my political beliefs were in line with the left of the political spectrum. In fact up until recently I used to be a member of the Labour Party here in England, and have been on and off for the last 13 years. During the last 12 months I was also an active member taking up a key role in my local Labour Party. However, I have now resigned my position and have left the Labour Party altogether. What I have witnessed in my time makes me feel very disappointed with the left.

I thought the left was associated with traits like liberalism, tolerance, compassion and respect. However, all they seem to be about now is hating anything that doesn't fit into their perspectives on life. They don't seem to be able to accept that others have opinions that may not be in line with theirs, but that doesn't make those people evil in any way, but to the left it does. It's as if the left is becoming a very bigoted creature indeed.

When I check history and go back to the 1960's and 1970's the left were certainly a more positive force for good. There was real social inequality then and they were genuinely figthing to redress this. And they did it. Now though their obsession with diversity is not about achieving equality, it seems to be about achieving some kind of special status. But this is achieving more division in our society and making it a very fragemented place indeed.

The attitudes and methods that the left are now adopting is also becoming increasingly absurd. In fact it is becoming outright fascist. This is where we all need to ask ourselves, what on earth has happened to the left? If they are prepared to adopt fascism in the pursuit of their increasingly divisive agenda then we have a duty to stop this madness.

Can't agree more @freedomexists ! I see the same phenomenon here in the US. IMO it is the corporate controlled media that is perpetuating the fall of liberalism. Globalist controlled corporations influencing the government and media...they have a monopoly in the main stream media. Luckily for us we have independent media outlets that still report REAL news. Resteeming, and following you. Please do the same for me. I post mainly about health but have a deep passion for libertarian politics as well. Here is my first blog post on intermittent fasting:

Hi enduro, yes the mainstream media is one of the biggest problems that all of us face. It's right to have a 'free' press but it is not right that it is free to lie, manipulate and deceive while being totally unaccountable. Thankfully though we have platforms like Steemit helping to form part of the alternative media movement, which is helping to spread the truth. Thanks for your comment, and following.

It doesn't help that trial precedents have made lying to the public by media outlets completely lawful. How can the everyday person ascertain what is real and fake when lying on a mass scale is LEGAL!? Obviously people with higher IQ's can figure it out, which is not the majority. Glad you got red pilled and found the light, our generation must shoulder the burden of this Information War.

I'm left handed and I feel violated by this article.

Is that not society i general? we dont seem to be able to tolerate dissent or different opinions anymore without violently disagreeing?

There's always some hatred around, but in general the left seems more caring. I remember some bad things being done by supposed leftie people during strikes back in the day. Violence should not be part of politics.
