International Women's Day Tournament

Thank you to everyone who came out to play in today's International Women's Day Tournament. The tournament was a glaring success. The @SPL would like to also give a big thank you to all the women who made this freeroll so much more special.

We had 66 players take to the tables and a tournament run time of 2 hours 15 mins.

Congratulations To The 1st Place Winner

@libby-stories took down the field of 66 players including both men and women. She played some stellar poker on the final table, overcoming a big chip deficit not once, but twice.

Early Table Action

What a game changing river card. Completes the straight for 'donchate'.

KJ waited for help that never got there. Jokosso takes down the hand.

Pocket kings survive a mind field of hands. Nice job.

Set of jacks is no good. Dirty dirty hand.

Conrats @libby-stories! That was real fun! Thank you @ats-witness & @guiltyparties for sponsoring the event! And also to @ancapbarbie for the unexpected bonus prizes!

Thank you @enginewitty!!! Yes Indeed it was a ton of fun, I will be visiting the poker room a lot I think !!!
Look forward to seeing you at the tables real soon!!

Sounds good, I have to bring my 'A' game for sure ;)

Thank you @alexisfuentes, that was actually my first time at the poker room, had a blast!

"Libby retakes the lead with a gutsy pair of 9s." -> this was my first mistake, I had a good equity to bluff and my chip pile suffered with it, when she called me.

"And the tide has turned..." -> Super bad played by me, being out of position I just tried too hard to win that pot, and it costed me the tournament. Congratulation to @libby-stories that just got started on Steemit and with the right foot.

Thank you @diogosantos!!

Yes, I agree it was a gutsy call, but I did have 2 low pairs so thought I have to go with that, but at the same time I was bitting my nails till the last card came in for certain, ah the thrill of poker!!

See ya at the tables again soon!!

Poker has things like that, and that's why we love that game!!

See you at the tables!

Yes indeed it does, but that is the overall thrill and excitement of it too!! Best game ever to play :)

See ya soon!!

Let me know Diogo's Steemit name so I can send the 3 SBD runner-up prize I offered. And thank you for a great tournament! Hey 59th is a change from 2nd or last, which is where I've finished in every single tournament I've played in before tonight!

DiogoAZ08 is a nickname that I use online for years and I probably shoudn´t have used it in SPL, because its harder for people to know who I am in the Steemit platform. I want to thank you for that extra 3 SBD, everything helps to improve my impact in this community. (you probably should wait for @tuck-fheman to confirm that DiogoAZ08 it's me :D )

You got 59th? If you are running bad tournaments, you should stop for a day or two and think about your game, make sure you always use the play style Tight/Aggressive, it's the best and most profitable way to play poker nowadays.

I'll take your word for it.

No, it's partly that I am only playing for fun and a good cause, and partly because I lost almost all of my chips when my two pair lost to iAbuse's full house. It's okay. It happens. :)

Thanks you for the SBDs, really appreciate it!

Taking a beating in the chip pile early on is tough to come back, sometimes it happens. Good Luck for your next runs at the tables.

Thank you for taking the screenshots on this tourney, was great to see it all again play out!!

I appreciate all the effort everyone put into this to make this even possible. I am over the moon to have taken first place, and this was actually my first time at this poker room too. You'll definitely be seeing more of me at the poker room for sure!!

I did my own post on my taking first place, and listed it under steem in the hope that we can get some more new players in too.

You can read it here if you would like:

Had a great time. That river jack killed my 3 of a kind king kicker haha. However very well played. I didn’t think he even had a triple.

Hi! Thanks for a great game :-) I knocked out Generausd and Inthenow. Where is it that I'm supposed to write this?

Beautiful women And beautiful post
