Truth of Souls - Original Poetry
I was nominated for this poetry challenge by @mariannewest.
Poetry is something that I fully enjoy... Although I am struggling yet again with a migraine, I did not want to fail in producing something, however small. If it's a little ambiguous, please forgive me. Enjoy.
Truth of Souls
We are caught between earth and stars,
Lives shapen by aches and cares
Moving as by wings lifted,
White music in our ears.
If light should pass between us,
And wind could brush our hearts
The notes may trill as nightingales
In a random, whirling rush.
The message placed
Bears a melted stamp
The truth of souls
Transparent.
In flames of a fading
Oiled lamp
Our lives but dreams we're making.

I liked how the abstract elements gradually slipped into more concrete lines and images. It gave me the perception of a spirit coming down from the heavens. Nice write.

I'm so happy you enjoyed this. It's funny how my brain works in a migraine but I can still write some poetry. Sometimes I'm not quite sure if it makes enough sense to other people. But it comes none-the-less like a river. Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you so much for tagging me... It's a good push to make myself write. And yes, I would like nothing more than to rid myself of these horrible migraines this year. In years past I've had them, but it has been so long since I've gotten them this severely. January 23rd I go to speak to a neurologist about getting Botox injections. I really don't want to do it, but I don't seem to get any relief from anything else.
