Permit

There's a place just over the hill
The place of the old guy named bill
Ask him where he's been
He'll tell you of all the things he's seen

Take a trip over to Matty's place
Look at her face
Look at the scars from before
Where others' frustrations bore

Ask Mr. Mell
Why he thinks this town is hell
There are only two reasons
One: everyone here has been accused of treason
Two: nobody listens to our innocent pleading

Each one of us: Convicts
Evicted from our home town for not having a living permit

Why does this remind me of the plight suffered by the Rongiya Muslim refugees right now?

'Each one of us: Convicts
Evicted from our home town for not having a living permit.'

Very sad yet very striking.

Nice!
