Bruised by Cupid's Arrow
An arrow struck her heart strings
Devoid of emotion as it had seemed
Strings playing bluesy tunes
A lullaby to her senses
Cupid had shot in her direction
Tonight, scented dreams awaited
Lavender; femininity all grown up
Yearnings will alas awake
Awake at the stroke of dawn
Dancing on feet so light
Seamless joy; svelte figure
A new inexplicable feeling
Courses did collide; magical spice
The belle and a dashing dandy
Locked lips; butterflies; perfection
Yearlong sensation.
A tear from cupid's eye
Drops on our love duo
Scales; sunshine; clearing fog
A rude awakening
Chicanery charm; a play
Travesty; him; his words
Love no more than lust
Yellowy embers; dead in gray
A broken heart; soul-sapping
Disenchanted, hurt; twas her first
Shot alas had missed its mark
Arrow was never hers to receive
Cupid's come to collect
Tonight, a soaked pillow; sad dreams
Love would someday find her here
Years to come, perhaps tomorrow.
