Old Age
Old Age
Time has devoured her, she's lost her glimpse
of hope
She's 75, and still gets her mail in an envelope
Her bones are weak, sometimes they harshly tweak
Often she cries, but the tears get to remain in her mountainous cheek
It seems like not too long
her juvenile skin used to glow in the daylight
All now left is deep wrinkles
to remind her age even with her poor eyesight
Shadow's her only friend, time's now her enemy
Oftentimes, she struggles walking to and fro breathlessly
Grandchild is her only smile, who's just turned two
her daughters only join her when they need funds to spend to
The darkness freezes her, as she may not wake up tomorrow
Nightmare is her regular visitor, insomnia her sorrow
She's got a hope but not a purpose in her life
The unfinished abandoned dreams still remains strife
Her body is old but strong is her soul
Wall is her dearest friend, she's got no one to console
Trapped in an old empty room like a caged bird who can't fly
She catches her reflection in that little swinging bird mirror, asking why
She's the same person back then, but with a little hair and pale skin
fine with the world, but not with the wheelchair and walking stick
This is the time she ought to live, she already realized
Old age is not a curse but rather a dramatic process of life
Time is still an unsolved mystery in physics. Hey, dude. I'm interested in your account if you are a physicist, Im happy to find someone with the same passion.
Keep it up.
