Judged
Seen up close, it was so very real.
A message very clear; touched my heart, it did.
A stranger derelict, eyes so red and empty,
Lying in the gutter, clothed with trash and grime…
Many faces passed him by, stony faces, eyes averted.
So guiltily expressions spoke, to reveal the situation.
The whole wide world convicted, before that poignant scene,
Human refuse underfoot, which judged the likes of us…
I liked this piece and how it kind of twists. Sometimes, it's not only the downtrodden who are judged. Good write.
Thanks! I appreciate your observation.
