those who aren't like those picture-perfect girls in magazines
this is for those whose self-worth has already diminished into nothingness just because they were born as a circle in a world full of boxes
this is for the errors, those who never fit in society's standards

This is for the girls who were never worth a second glance,
those who never received flowers or chocolates or stuffed toys during Valentine's day
those who always dream of having thigh gaps and chiseled jawlines and toned arms
those who hate seeing weighing scales and mirrors because it reminds them of just how different they are

This is for the girls who are not beautiful.
those who are never called "pretty" and "stunning"
those who always have to make do with comments on their personality and wit
those who have to constantly work on these traits, hoping that people will see beyond their skin-deep imperfections and maybe, just maybe, learn to accept everything they are, crooked teeth and bad posture included

This is for the girls who are not beautiful
you are not beautiful
because you are majestic
you are wilderness, you are starlight
you will never be defined by magazine covers and television shows because you are so much more than that

You are not beautiful
because you are a goddess
and goddesses are not beautiful just by how they look, they are filled with courage and wisdom and this is what makes them even more blinding than the sun
and if someone tells you otherwise,
