On choosing inaction

an original poem

How are we to
offer a hand to whom
falls victim to
such dangers over
a passive world loom–

where those with ears
choose not to hear
a call so clear,

where a man dies
full of empty prayers,
hungry for a garden
when no seeds
are sown?
