Funny...
Praying for help
wishing for death
begging forgiveness
before your last breath
its never as pretty
as you'd like to believe
your time on this earth
before you leave
times will be bad
harsh winds will blow
and for so many
it's all they ever know
within mere seconds
the pendulum swings
with the weight of the world
and all that it brings
abandoned by your family
betrayed by a friend
admonished by society
this suffering has no end
that fairytale you dreamed of
exists only in your head
but in ones reality
life hangs by a thread
those moments of joy
are always so rare
times of sheer bliss
give way to despair
fear and loneliness
become part of the day
the darkness of humanity
a stones throw away
the feeling that something
inside you has died
no matter your efforts
how hard you tried
born to a time
where no one gives a shit
try as they might
they just don't get it
a place with no hope
dreading each day
it's funny how things
work out this way -- Funny.

A really good poem. I guess life is hard and definitely no fairy tale. But I believe that "those moments of joy (that) are always so rare" can hold the despair away. Then again maybe I "just don't get it".
"Those moments of joy" certainly can fend-off despair... But for some those moments can be clouded by the weight of despair. I admire your hopefulness and appreciate the comment. THANKS!

This is actually a pretty bad state, this sound fearful and terrifying without hope and full of despair.
But surely life is beautiful and amazing, worth enjoying every moment.
Perhaps you are in rough moment or you witnessed someone in such a poor and hopeless state. Hence the poem
But be encouraged or give hope for nothing is permanent and God is alive and can make a way in the wilderness
