My first share of poetry on Steemit.. I am now a Stoet ;-)
And I follow the bend in the trees,
as the wind pushes them towards my destination.
I clutch my staff and steadily move up the mountain.
I have been here before. When I was a young one.
Full and fair, unspoiled by the terrain of time.
I left these hills in my youth to seek the comforts of the unknown.
To find anonymity in the crowds of my mind. I feel it's time to return.
Reconnect, fulfill the circle that is the beginning.
Why wait?
Wait....
till time has found me boring and full of unrelenting memories.
Memories that only few share and nearly none wish to revisit.
They are the baggage that holds me down upon this rock.
As I gather water for the evening. I catch a ripple of my reflection.
It took years for the age to set in, only moments to be reminded of the whole journey that was me.
I find the solitude of the evening more painful than the scars upon my heart.
Those scars that water could never reflect.
Those reflections that I would rather keep darkened to light.
I wait out of hope, out of fear.
Time has placed me in this situation.
Fear keeps me here.
And those well-worn paths of my youth,
are now a cold trail that leads the long way,
to a home that may have never existed.
But did it really exist, if it kept me happy for all those years?
Was it not a happy home, if I were happy?
Did I exist just to please my own mind?
A future of unfound uncertainties,
I believe I have said it all before.
Although I do not remember the words
The image of it all will never fade.
I sit too, smoke my mind.
And find
Truth in time.
Follow me to keep seeing more. Kiindest Regards eStoneY
