Original Poem // Three words, Eight letters
Today I thought I'd share something that is incredibly close to me.. one of the first poems I'd ever written. This is something I haven't shown many people, but I thought I'd take the plung and share it!
Three words, eight letters
Three words, eight letters. You’re asking how
Simple? Understated lines, escaped from lips.
Three words with such great power, he’s now
Hushing you from the motion of fingertips.
Three words, eight letters, you’re questioning why?
Eight letters of dominance over one's heart.
Young simply ageing, as time passes by
Breaking if even a moment apart
Three words, eight letters, its written in stone
Carved by the once Mighty, soon to be fallen.
Etched. A proclamation, the wind has blown
Whispering in the ear, harsh words won’t soften
Three words, eight letters, that’s all they ever were
Bittersweet. Released silently from her.
This was one of the first sonnets I wrote, so I'd love all feeback on ways I can improve
