You check your phone for the 20th time in one hour
Hoping someone will reach out
Not a ring
No alerts
It's that true emptiness where you sit alone in your apartment
No TV on
No music playing
Just you sitting on the couch
Curled up
Wondering what the point is when you've been pushed to the sidelines all your life
The emptiness you feel when your therapist looses hope in you
The emptiness where scrolling through suicide pages on social media
Does nothing but inspire you..
Why?
It's your escape
From this emptiness called life
It's 1AM
You shed a tear
It falls to the sofa that's big enough to hold a family but only cradles one small young girl.
It's your escape
No more betrayal,
disappointment,
being misunderstood,
No more holding on to people that want to let go
No more looking in the mirror to that face you use to know
No more sorrow
Did I want to be like this?
No.
Course not.
But this emptiness is now
