Yon turf, fringing the margent of the stream,
As down upon a cherub's lip might seem,
Or growth from dust of buried tulip cheeks;
Tread not that turf with scorn, or light esteem!
هر سبزه که برکنار جویی رسته است
گویی ز لب فرشتهخویی رسته است
پا بر سر سبزه تا به خواری ننهی
کان سبزه ز خاک لاله رویی رسته است

Omar Khayyám, was a Persian polymath, scholar, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and poet, widely considered to be one of the most influential thinkers of the Middle Ages. He also wrote numerous treatises on mechanics, geography, mineralogy, astronomy and music.
