When Warmth Came Easy - An original poem
When Warmth Came Easy
by Kirk Wise
I’m trying to remember you summer sun
When warmth came easy and life was fun
Struggling to recall a warm bright day
But in the cold distance you are far away
Yearning to feel just one warm breeze
As the cold wind blows and I start to freeze
Questioning the universe’s specific reason
Why I have to suffer in this bitter cold season
It was so much easier back then than now
With no snow to shovel or roads to plow
Either mild and rainy or sunny and bright
Any other weather would relieve this plight
Looking forward to that first spring day
When I can bid farewell to Winter’s way
But soon enough those days will come
I will no longer feel so frozen and numb

Spring will be here soon enough..
