This poem is about my pet toad who tried to escape and got squashed by a car outside my house when I was little.😭

Oh Fred the toad, Oh Fred the toad
Oh why are you lying in the road
Did you not see that car ahead
That came along and squashed you Fred

I just went out to say hello
and there you were down below
Lying still beneath my feet
As my tears began to speak

I lift you up, I hold you near
To whisper these words in your ear
