POEM: SHOREY STORY
“Into the doorway...”
The Atlantic says
And your feet sing like a dove
Stored up in lace
Death and grace
Climb brackets in the league of love
How do we babble
And stack blessed
Stones on your sinking tongue?
The solemn suffering
Of people plundered
On a blue and black winged voyage
No storm or swell
No blood or bell
Sways us from our sea stage

Process: I remembered hearing about Thom Yorke’s song writing process and chose many of the words in this poem by randomly pointing to pages in a book.
