POEM: CANDY
Teeth are the doorway
To a smile
And all the while
As skulls roll
Happiness tumbles in
Through a mudroom
Hands are the hooks
Tugging time
And will find
Bags of candy
Sweetening the lips
Of a welcome mat
The face of disguise breaches
Mirror worlds
Hidden pearls
Elusive entities
Share a muse’s mien
Through the mouth gap
In a mask
May I ask
What sweetness
Has been planned
For an inner shelf?
