Pa Nelson Mandela

And so he left, in peaceful sullen slumber
Beyond the reach of mere mortal
Beneath the hollow cave of death
Hidden in shadow of our ancestors
And so he left , to land eternal
Living to die no more.

The departure we mourn
The memories , we harboured
Rohlilahla Nelson Mandela the great!
First among equals
Driven into exile for love of Africa
Jailed for decade for his colour
And for daring the white
Great he his.

Reverend of the Diaspora
Who fought tooth and nail herald equality
Great fearless man
Who won the noble peace prize
Patriarch of the black
Gone! But footpath still visible.
