On A Soldier’s Return From War| AN ORIGINAL POEM
I have returned
From making children fatherless
And from turning
Lively homes into desolate huts
I have taken a break
To you my wife
I do not wish to know
How you kept warm
While I was away
But now that I am here
To press my face against your chest
Let my children
Bear not only my name
But have dimples in their cheeks
