RE: Would you rather eat a pie or get staked up in BEOS?

in #pies6 years ago

Looks like @wolfhart already beat me to the question, but I was wondering how you were differentiating plankton and redfish, too. Under 100 for redfish and 100-499 for redfish?

penguinpablo puts out a lot of good stuff, but I think what you're looking for comes from arcange, in terms of vests.

Speaking of which, he also uses deadfish, which probably describes most of those plankton you have there.

re: pie vs BEOS

Welll, pie is going to win no matter what, but considering I hadn't even heard of BEOS until you brought it up... :)

Sort:

Dead fish, that does sound rather sad. I assume they hold 0 SP?

For the above I use < 100 SP Plankton, and 100 - 499 Red Fish. I guess I should update the table for clarity.

Pies > BEOS, right on. I know very little but have been reading up today and am interested - Bitshares meets EOS...

re: plankton vs redfish

Okay.

re: update

Well, now I've given you more work to do on something that you didn't sound so thrilled to be doing in the first place. :)

re: deadfish

Typically, it's not the amount of SP they hold, but how often they transact, as in post, comment, upvote. I don't think delegating counts. So there are rather large deadfish as far as SP goes.

However, if you look at arcange's chart breakdowns, the deadfish can't be larger SP because the whale count is always the right amount, and there are deadfish among those.

Task complete :)

I wonder if playing drugwars or steemmonsters counts, I would assume so.

The whales must be doing something if they all appear - moving their millions around perhaps :)

re: whales

Yeah, I've never understood how that breakdown actually works in arcange's daily report. Because there's plenty of others from minnows on up that show as deadfish if you search for them on steemitboard or elsewhere that uses the designations. Steemit, steem, freedom, all show up as deadfish because they're not active on the social side.

I have seen it so many ways. And even Plankton up to III levels. (499 SP)
A redfish can be a plankton but a plankton can’t be a redfish , ...WHAT.
LOL haha

Up until this post, I'd only ever seen redfish and plankton used interchangeably. There is in nature, however, a big difference between the two, and actually a redfish could be any of a number of different kinds, some of them considerably larger than minnows. So, it's been confusing to me already. Don't get me started with saltwater vs. fresh water, or why whales are supposed to help plankton when the latter is the former's main source of food. :)

Haha
Last year you were a minnow. Then the term plankton started being used as a slang for a newbie. It all depended on which app you were using. Plankton and redfish were the same . Now you have to ask. Dolphin 🐬 dropped to 5000 SP
I’m so confused 🤷‍♂️ am I an octopus 🐙
