Castle in Lidzbark Warm

in #photos7 years ago (edited)

Lidzbark Warmiński from 1350 to the 19th century was the capital of Warmia and formerly its largest city. The city was the center of faith and culture in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, often because it was also called the Pearl of Warmia. For a long time it was under the rule of the Warmian bishops. It was also a significant economic center, second only to Braniewo in Warmia. The city has a castle of Warmian bishops, which for high artistic and historical value on a global scale, was considered a historical monument, formerly included in the monuments of the "0" class (according to the historic classification of monuments) [1].
