California Redwoods - 9 photos
Just off highway 101 is the Avenue of the Giants. Wyott is my favorite exit, I think the trees there are the most incredible of the most incrediblest. These are all from the Burlington state campground.
That really is a redwood seed.
They say the trees get that tall because some special moss grabs moisture from the fog and keeps the tree alive.
It seems like they live in a band all along the northern California coast, all a few miles off the water, just as the land starts to go uphill. East are the sequoias and then the high desert comes soon after. 300 feet tall and limited to such a small section of the world.
