Hill of Crosses, Lithuania

When i was backpacking in Riga, Latvia I meet some people and we decided to have a daytrip to see the hill of crosses,
It was quite a weird experience, its is a sight of pilgrimage.

There has to be over 100,000 crosses placed there.

I spent about an hour walking around the hill, it really was quite an experience.

I cannot really remember why people started to places crosses there in the first place but they have been doing it for at least 150 years!
