It’s been a few weeks now since all the gigs were cancelled. Amongst the musicians I know personally, the panic and shock is slowly subsiding and being replaced by a grim acceptance of reality. I’m entirely sure the majority of Australia is experiencing something similar, but the only perspective I can talk about is what I am experiencing as a professional within the arts who is surrounded by other professionals within the arts....

Its going to be tough even once this is over people arent going to want to meet for big gatherings and spend on entertainment when they need to focus on essentials
Totally - The only way artists who live off their art will make it through is with government support for the arts, and in austraila, that looks unlikely.
Highly unlikely, they will focus on corporate business interests and leave the small business owner and independent gig worker with nothing
