Election Commission (EC) is optimistic about the participation of all the political parties in the upcoming eleven parliamentary elections. Chief election commissioner (CEC) Khan Mohammad Nurul Huda told reporters on Saturday that a three-day training workshop organized by the Bangladesh Press Institute (PIB) on Saturday said, "If any party remains in the previous position, it would be tragic. Because if all the teams do not participate then the selection will not be good. But we hope all political parties will participate in the elections. "

Nurul Huda said, "I will choose from neutral, this is the determination. We do not have any confidence in the parties. Although there is talk of any other matter, no political party has yet to complain about the neutrality of the Election Commission.

On the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the next general election, the CEC said, the decision to use EVM in the national elections has not yet been decided. It will be used on experimental basis in local elections. EVMs will be used as much as possible in upcoming elections of Gazipur and Khulna City Corporation.!

He said, "If the main stakeholders of the Election Commission (political parties) and the voters agree to vote in EVM, then it will be used in national elections. Manual selection is very difficult to choose from. Therefore, the use of technology in the election must be done. But first we have to gain confidence using local elections. "

In collaboration with Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED), 35 journalists from various media participated in the workshop organized by the PIB.

PIB Director General Under the chairmanship of Shah Alamgir, Additional Secretary of Information Ministry Abul Hossain spoke as the special guest.2.jpg
