in #photographylast month

Allamanda cathartica, commonly known as the Golden Trumpet, is a stunning flowering plant known for its vibrant yellow blooms and fast-growing nature. Native to South and Central America, this evergreen vine has become a favorite among gardeners and landscapers worldwide. With its eye-catching flowers, glossy green leaves, and resilience in warm climates, Allamanda cathartica is a perfect addition to tropical and subtropical gardens.

Allamanda cathartica is a woody, twining vine that can also be pruned into a shrub. It features dark green, lance-shaped leaves arranged in whorls along its stems. The plant's most striking feature is its trumpet-shaped, golden-yellow flowers that bloom profusely throughout the warm months. These flowers can grow up to 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Traditionally, parts of the Allamanda plant have been used in herbal medicine, particularly as a purgative due to its cathartic properties. However, caution is advised, as the plant contains toxic compounds that can cause irritation or poisoning if ingested in large quantities.
