Some of those older implements are actually better than the more modern counterparts (that brush cutter at the bottom comes to mind).

It's not in the picture but we use a saw we found to help cut ice blocks during the winter. Since we don't have electricity up there we have an ice house, keeps til about end of July or beginning of August.

I always find those things fascinating. I'd read about them in old literature, but I've never known how they work or anything. That's awesome that you guys are able to re-purpose that saw!
