SILIŅI. The Gulf of Riga is freezing up!!! Some winter pictures PART II [phone]

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Man... Winter this year is rough. Well, at least the February. It's been around -5 C° every day, and for the last week it's -10 C° by the day and around -20 C° in the night. Plus it's snowing almoust every day. I haven't experienced a weather like this for a long time.

Yesterday the clouds whent away for a while, so I desiced to go for a walk and maybe take some pictures. I had my camera for a while now. And it's been with me in all my trip's, so it had some rouph times. But it looks like the journey is over for the camera. It had some issues with focusing and now the zooming option also has given up. So this time I used my phone.

And the crazyest thig is that the gulf is frozing up!!! We live by the Gulf of Riga - it's not the bigest one, so it's posible for it to froze up [last time it hapened was in 2013]. It can hapen if there is a lot of snow and some stong winds. And of course minus degree tempreture. In the news they say it's around 70% frozen up, but the article I found is 5 days old, so by the time it could be a lot more. Gulf of Finland has frozen up by 90%.

Walking on the frozen sea is one of my favorite winter activities and it looks like that's finaly posible for a long time.

Hope you will have a great day ;)
