Ivan the Tea (6). Tasting of Huan-Tuo-Cha

in #photography7 years ago

It took more than six months and decided to try all the same one more of the varieties Ivan-Chai, which he told about in previous parts.

Well, for starters - Help yourself)))

In the last part, I talked about experimenting with a "parody" of Chinese recipes. And as a result, this "nest"

Today he opened it. Outside, it was rather weakly pressed and the top layers were easily removed.

I liked not the damaged and strong leaves of Ivan-Chai. Well, a dense, viscous scent, spreading through the kitchen, hinted at the magical taste of the future drink.

Trying to open the "then-chu" further, I found out that the inner layers were very tightly pressed and it was impossible to separate the separate leaves.

This point did not like, since almost from the center of the "nest" was chipped away. I remember this moment for the next year and came up with a couple of options how to achieve greater uniformity of the compact.

The interior was more like a version of the point from the fourth part, that outwardly, that by smell.

I decided to use both leaves and part of the inside of the brew.

Looking ahead I will say that the first impression is disappointment. Despite the fruity fruity smell, the taste was bright with bitterness and a slight sourness. Not at all what I expected.

I tried for the purity of the experiment without sugar, since some kinds of tea from those that turned out sugars and honey did not require at all, the taste was already sweet enough. And in this version, rather harsh bitter notes have hinted that sugar is needed.

And so he made it. The fragrance and color are just magical. As the taste said the unexpected.

The previous versions of tea were sweetened with honey, if necessary, but it was lazy to honey and just spooned a spoonful of sugar and it turned out that laziness is good.

Well, because with honey I would not understand what exactly happened))) After the addition of sugar, the bitterness completely disappeared and the sourness that was in this tea, not the one that usually happens in Ivan-Tea, but some other, familiar , but not recognizable. It turned out that this sour is usually present in honey. The taste of tea immediately played in different shades from prune to honey. The aroma intensified and became as stupefying as honey in herbs.

After drinking a cup of tea, I wanted more. After drinking a couple of cups stopped. I did not risk just in case, to see the effect of this drink))) And then there are natural grasses have a strong enough impact)))

In the end, I am directly pleased with this result, even more than I expected. And I expected that it would be the most delicious of all recipes.

Disadvantages of this recipe described above and the next year I'll take into account them and those that described in the past parts and make a "masterpiece" ...

Well, for now ... Bye. Before the meetings, Eugene
