monument city langsa
Narrated by dr. Alwi, one of the descendants of the seventh generation of Langsa's King, that Langsa had stood since the 15th century. In that century, there was one prince from Pagaruyung Kingdom, West Sumatra who sailed to this area via the Strait of Malacca and anchored in Titi Kembar (now Goh Baro Langsa Lama, Langsa Lama Subdistrict). The prince opened the jungle in this area to make land. It is said that at that time, came a great eagle that swirled in the region. Literally, the word Langsa comes from a combination of the words Elang and Sa (Acehnese for word one) becomes Elangsa. If the word Elangsa is pronounced quickly, it will become Langsa.
