Georgetown, Penang - A view from the tallest building on Penang.
KOMTAR, the tallest building in Penang, an iconic landmark of Penang, a multipurpose complex consisting of retail outlets, transportation hub and administrative offices for the Penang State Government. An acronym for Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak, KOMTAR was named after Tun Abdul Razak bin Hussein Al-Haj, the second prime minister of Malaysia, who officiated in the piling of Phase 1 on 1 January 1974. The construction of the 65-storey tower is completed on 1988 (The whole constructions was split into several phases) with the height of the tower reaching 232 meter.
In 2013, RM50 million KOMTAR revitalisation and rejuvenation project covering levels 5, 59, 60, 64 and 65 was kicked off. And on 1st June 2015, restaurant on levels 59 and 60 of tower block opens for business which called 59 Sixty.
59 Sixty, offers fine dining and breathtaking 360 degree panoramic city views. And I was there today for a company event. And here are couple of my shots of Georgetownfrom the tallest building of Penang. Captured using HTC One M8.
